I’m currently recording a YouTube video for Micro.blog users to demonstrate how you can interact with the social web from Micro.blog. Expect the video to be published soon. Feel free to say “hi”, you’re on camera!
Each time I select a few emails in Outlook at the office and then move them into a folder I think of Severance’s employees working on their computer to gather numbers and drop them in a bucket. Every. Single. Time. And now you’ll probably do, too. You’re welcome.
From my point of view, with recent security breach from the government members, more signs point to being much closer to a dictatorship than we are willing to admit. Many cabinet members are using Signal on purpose because they don’t want scrutiny, they don’t think they owe anything to the American people.
I updated the blog theme plugin to add support for Micro.blog summaries. In order to work, I had to disable showing the full post on the main page, which triggers the display of the summary with a “Continue reading” link. Is it a better reading experience for my readers? You tell me, please. I’m not sure.
As reported by Engadget and many others:
According to researchers, anyone who knows where to look can spray digital graffiti on the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) website. Two web development experts said the site doesn’t seem to be hosted on government servers and that the database it pulls from can be modified by those who locate it. At the time of writing, a message reading “these ‘experts’ left their database open - roro” is still visible on the DOGE site.
Thanks, I feel much more confident now.
Another big snowstorm is coming right at us this Sunday. It should be a bit smaller is intensity compared to yesterday’s storm. So far, snow accumulation estimated range is 20-30 cm. ❄️
It's Time to Vote With My Money
DHH at 37 Signals praising Musk for his business (and now) government spending management is yet another red flag and a no-go for me. I won’t link to this post. I’m going to vote with my money and cancel my HEY Mail subscription this fall when my subscription is expiring. If Musk buys ChatGPT, I’ll again vote with my money and cancel my ChatGPT subscription in due time. As Trump is imposing 25% tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum, I’ll vote with my money and cancel my yearly business trip to the US this fall. Some of these changes are a pain to implement but resisting is never an easy thing.
A rather big one is coming at us this Thursday, the first big snow storm of the season. Mostly heavy snow, rather weak winds. North shore of Montreal to get the most snow. Working from home that day for sure.
Now the orange clown put tariffs on hold for 30 days… what an erratic guy… I know he is doing that on purpose because this is the only way he runs his businesses…
For once, I’m really proud of him, of us. This is Canada’s Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Justin Trudeau, announcing retaliatory actions against the White House absurd and unjustified tariffs. The first four minutes entirely reflect who we are. So well said and quite moving, actually. 🇨🇦 💪🏻
