A by-product of switching to News Explorer, a powerful RSS reader, the deletion of these apps from my iPad. RSS FTW! Review available here: numericcitizen.me/2020/02/2…

  • A new and interesting concept for iPadOS multitasking

Another iPadOS multitasking concept appeared on Twitter. First, this is an intersting starting point to redo multitasking on the iPad. Very simple gesture: single tap as it should be. My guess is that developers wouldn’t need to update their app in order to support this new model. It does fix the problem of finding the second app to bring in. Second, how the hell do they make these animations? How do we bring this to Apple’s attention? Continue reading →

Desjardins, a major financial institution here in Canada, deserving mostly Quebec province and well known for a major data breach they were victim of recently, occupies modern offices near my home. They rented and rearchitected the internal space available in the olympic stadium’s main tour. Impressive. See the link here to have a look. design-milk.com/montreals… Continue reading →

Sometimes I feel that I’m spending more time testing tools and switching my stuff between them than actually doing useful work with them. Currently testing MarsEdit and Notion. Always looking for better tools and services.

I’ve always been fascinated by the web service called “Notion”. Anyone here using this platform? I’m wondering if this can be useful for me and how it would fit in my current workflows. Maybe I’ll open my account there and see how it goes.

Yeah, Steve Jobs would have been 65 today. I’m kind of always asking myself: would Steve like to be remembered like this, every year, directly from the CEO of Apple? Anyways, I miss him a lot. #apple #stevejobs #sjobs twitter.com/tim_cook/…

This leak supposedly showing iOS 14 running on an iPhone and showing the app switcher from the iPad… seriously, I hope we get to keep the current “card style” which I find better suited for the iPhone form factor and thumb based operations. #apple #ios14 #rumor #leaktwitter.com

Today’s session of urban exploration was the first since I bought the iPhone 11 Pro last fall. As you might expect, going in with such a phone makes a great difference while shooting quick shots in dark places. This device is simply amazing (you can read my lengthy revew here btw). Just (re)discovered Camera+ during my urban exploration session today. How come I didn’t spend more time with this wonderful camera app?🤦🏻‍♂️ I should (and I will) write a review of this app as it will probably find a special place in my photo processing workflow. #photography.

My wife and I went for a walk today. Great weather. After a while, my wife says her Apple Watch asks permission to connect to my phone. I’m surprised. She didn’t bring her iPhone with her. I turned on hotspot on my iPhone. Just a few moments later, she get a phone call on the watch. She answer and start the conversation. How cool is that? I didn’t know the Apple Watch could do this… It has something to do with the fact that she is in the iCloud Family and this was a call using wifi calling from her cell phone provider through my own iPhone. I don’t know if I’m alone with this behaviour… are you one of these guys who keep unused (or very rarely used) apps on your devices? Do you keep them “just in case you need them”? I’m trying to change this behaviour and I created a folder called “On the way out”. 😳🤔😂😂

Interesting newcomer in the note taking apps landscape: Noto - Elegant Note. Really nice design. Not sure about long term viability (remember Evernote?). Not sure about design scalability with a lot of notes. Another subscription to take care of. Not cheap for a young app. MacStories.net has more to say about it for sure. I’ll keep on eye on that one. apps.apple.com/ca/app/no… Continue reading →
