Is this a new tactic by Amazon: clicking on reviews count to take a look at reviews to discover that not all reviews apply to the currently selected product? 😳😒

I’ve been creating YouTube videos for several years, mainly focused on Craft, but also covering Micro.blog and a few other topics. Some of my older Craft videos seem outdated since they reference much older versions that are not relevant anymore. Should I set these videos to private now? What are other YouTubers doing in this situation?

Another major Internet outage is ongoing, thanks to CloudFlare this time. I’m experiencing several unusual issues this morning (Inoreader, Micro.blog, Craft-hosted docs, etc.).

I’m so proud of us Canadians 🇨🇦 who avoided the US for vacations creating a four billion dollar deficit in tourism this year. I hope this will continue as long as the US is acting like an enemy. Power to the people who dare to defy stupidity and autocracy.

Experimenting with new video support of Micro.blog. Please, ignore. Now returning to normal programming.

According to the reactions I’m seeing on my Micro.blog timeline (which also includes some people on Bluesky and Mastodon) shows that everyone is a democrat. Cool because I don’t like nazis.

I just rewatched Thriller, like I do every year on Halloween. What a great music video! Everything is in there: music, storytelling, special effects, dance, great décor, and a good ending. Pure and genuine entertainment.

It took one question from someone who watched my latest video to realize that I might have rushed that one out a bit. I failed to explain and mention the reasons why I still need an app like Craft while I use Ulysses, another app for writing. 🤦🏻♂️

Watched: The Gorge. I don’t watch enough movies, but yesterday I was tempted by The Gorge on Apple TV+. The trailer hinted at a science fiction film with a vibe similar to Silo. Despite an atmosphere that sometimes reminds me of Severance in terms of the soundtrack, the shift toward a romance between the two antagonists was a bit too easy. The environment deep inside this gorge is sometimes surprising and well done, though. I never would have guessed the presence of these… creatures. I don’t want to reveal any more.

I’m surprised that the new Movies section here on Micro.blog didn’t end up in a revamped Discovery section. To me, it’s seems like a good fit.

What a beautiful day it is. I had an 11 KM hike today. We touched 30 °C, which is astonishing for October 5th. I mean, this is autumn, guys!

If the US government actually shuts down, does this include the shutdown of the white house and everyone in it? Asking for a friend. 🍊

I received a notification in the Settings app about an AppleCare renewal for my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I’m uncertain whether I should proceed with the renewal or leave it to chance. It’s 15 CAN$ a month. Not cheap. I got a scratch on the screen.

I just submitted one of my comments about Google and Apple deals to Techmeme, and it got picked up. Am I famous now? I’ve been following Techmeme more closely in the last few weeks; it’s a strange but informative place to be.

So, according to Trump, we, Canadians, are nasty? Oh. Proud of it. And fuck him and his clowns.

I’ve been using the Digg beta for a few weeks, and I have mixed feelings about it. I appreciate its design and the way users curate links and content. However, I worry that it might become as toxic as Reddit once it opens to everyone. Just this morning, I participated in a thread where some users were posting angry comments—albeit mildly—toward someone who disagreed with the majority. The argument is simple: Reddit is a toxic place and people want an alternative. Digg came up trying to be different but some people think that under the surface, it will become as toxic as Reddit. Boom. I wonder if the Internet can ever be a place for debating.

It’s been a while but recent news and trends about AI-based bots trying to ruin the life of psychologically vulnerable people triggered an update to my /nope page.
